• Everyone is able to request gifts from all groups, not just the ones you’re in!
• In-app shipping for all gifts! We’re hoping to have the option for the Gift Giver to cover shipping in 2026, but for now shipping is paid by the Gift Recipient.
• A simplified Gift Request flow with all pending requests in one view!

• 🎁 Get in on the fun by adding at least 1 item to your closet and selecting “Gifting” under the item’s “Trade Preference.” For this event, you'll only be able to request a gift if you have, or have had, at least one item in your closet available for someone else to request as a gift during the span of the event. Remember — there's no such thing as a too-small gift, and you never know what you have in your closet that someone else might love.
  
  We recommend changing the Trade Preference on your item(s) to Gifting as close to Noon ET on Black Friday as possible so that your gift goes live with the event and not prior, since it's part of the fun to see the bounty of gifts offered by our incredible community all hanging out together 🥰
  
  🔥 Hot Tip: This is a great use case for our Drafts function, where you can pre-load your items with all the required details — at least 3 measurements, fabric content, a minimum of 3 clear pics of the actual item being offered, and try-on pics highly encouraged! 
  
  Note: Your items may say “Going Live on Tuesday” but will go live for the event if they are marked as “Gifting.”

• 👯 Invite your friends to our circular take on Black Friday! This is a great time to bring new folks into the wonderful world of LS where we trade, gift, and shop together 🌎 💕
  
  Note: Share your personalized invite code to get a $25 Slow Fashion gift card if 5 of your kindest, coolest, and best-dressed friends join LS and add at least one item to their closet ✌️

• 👋 Join the event Friday 11/28 — Tuesday 12/2 to browse all the gifts and shop secondhand + items handmade by the LS community.
  
  ❄️ Did you know? Me Made is the only LS group with Buy/Sell open year-round to uplift our maker community, but during this event and all Buy & Sell Days, everyone on LS can shop Me Made. Handmade gifts = holiday magic.
  We're seeing the cutest holiday gift options being added and can't wait to see what other amazing makes y'all share for the holiday season and beyond 💕

• 🙋🏽‍♀️ Request a gift by tapping “Request” on items marked as gifts + add a message to personalize your gift request, and hold tight 🤞 If you’re selected to receive the gift, you just pay shipping and it’s yours!

• 🥰 Give a gift and feel the love. When someone requests a gift, tap “Give as gift” in the chat. 
You’ll then be prompted to input the package dimensions so the recipient can purchase shipping through the app. Easy peasy!
  
  Gifting on LS:
  Rule #1: Gifting should not be stressful! At the end of the day, there is no wrong answer when choosing a gift recipient. But when in doubt, consider these guidelines:

  1. Give love to new users, or those beginning their slow closet ~ journey ~
  2. Choose a request message that resonates with you personally.

• 👯 If you’d like to exchange gifts with someone please treat this as a TRADE, rather than individual gift requests 🙏

• 📫 Be mindful of the location when requesting gifts, since you'll be covering shipping on any gift you receive, and make sure your shipping location preferences are up to date on your LS profile if you'd prefer to only gift/trade/sell domestically.
