How to submit a slow fashion brand

We know that as the landscape of slow and sustainable fashion makers is constantly evolving, so too should our list of accepted brand evolve. That's why we love having members submit suggested brands! You can submit a brand directly in the app when you're adding your first item.

Our slow fashion mod team

The Slow Fashion community discussion (and trading!) spaces are moderated by a group of helpful slow fashion experts and fellow swappers. They review brands, share item advice, and help make Lucky Sweater a welcoming and safe space. Make sure to say hi once you join us!

Hello from Moria (pronounced like Mariah), one of the community moderators of the slow fashion community on Lucky Sweater. I live in Atlanta with my husband, tween angel, and half Aussie/Catahoula, Merle. My slow fashion journey began in early 2017. Some of the first influencers I followed led me to Pyne & Smith, Tradlands, and Elizabeth Suzann. It sorta snowballed from there.

I’m part of Lucky Sweater because using tech to create community and achieve goals is very inspiring. Trading is such a personal way to build a sustainable wardrobe and extend the journey of our clothes. Founders Carley and Tanya are building the world they want to see and I’m so excited that they asked me to come along for the ride.

Hi there! My name is Sarah, aka lil_paczki , and I'm one of the community moderators of the slow fashion community on Lucky Sweater. I currently reside in Metro Detroit, living with my husband and 3 dogs—a lab mix, Bichon, and a Norwegian Buhund. If you ever want photos, or want to chit-chat about training, AKC events, or raw feeding, let me know!

My journey into the slow/ethical fashion community started in late 2018, early 2019, when I began joining insta and participating in the community. It was a real eye-opener and I started to think differently about my clothing consumption and who made it. My tops brands are Free Label, Conscious Clothing, Sotela, Only Child, ARQ, Mien Studios, and American Eagle (yes, a "fast fashion" brand).

I am Angela (she/her/hers), one of the community moderators of the slow fashion community on Isthmus. I currently live in Seattle, where I was born and raised, but will soon be moving back to NYC to start the next chapter of my life as a post-doctoral research scientist! I am also a proud mom to my 16-year-old Tuxedo cat, Yin Yang (please let me know if you'd like me to spam you with photos).

I grew up going to yard/garage sales and thrift shopping with my mom, mainly hunting for funky shoes, vintage trench coats, and OOAK jewelry pieces. I didn't officially "start" my slow fashion journey until I discovered Elizabeth Suzann in 2019, and I have since learned about so many other incredible brands! Some of my favorites include Ilana Kohn, James Street Co, Aliya Wanek, and Arq. I am a jumpsuit, outerwear, and beanie lover. Send me all your recommendations!

Hi there, I'm Lacey! I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to Seattle in June of 2022 with my pup, Lucy, and my husband, Matthew. I love to go for walks, paddle board, draw, and read. I currently work for the Downtown Seattle Association and run a little side business where I sell my art prints.

I describe my style simply as “comfy cute”: wearing something that I feel confident in while also being comfortable enough to move around and keep up with an active lifestyle.

What items does this community trade?

This community is centered around trading handmade clothing and accessories, as well as leftover fabrics, patterns, books, notions, and tools used to create these handmade clothing and accessories.

We welcome beginner makers, experts, and anyone who simply appreciates beautiful handmade pieces. Join us today to trade and discover unique creations from our community.

Handmade items must be crafted by the member themself, by fellow Lucky Sweater members, or have been received as gifts from hobbyists such as grandparents or neighbors. If members have bought a handmade item they wish to list, we recommend suggesting that maker or brand to the Slow Fashion Community brand list instead. 
It is important to note that handmade items can vary greatly in terms of item condition, measurements, sizing, fit, fabrics used, and other details. Therefore, members must provide detailed information about each item they trade.

I'm Sali, a 53-year-young American living the good life in Italy where I'm married to an Italian and we have a 17-year-old giant teenager.
I studied Fashion Merchandising/Marketing at university, and have always had a creative side. I love photography, art, travel, thrifting/markets, and creating (sewing and knitting!). I have always, always shopped secondhand since high school, whether it was thrift stores or garage/church sales. Now I do it at markets or online.

I started getting into slow fashion too about 6 years ago. Some of my favorite brands are Ace & Jig, babaa, Injiri, Pero, and Ichi Antiquités.
I'm so happy to be a part of this app, which combines trading clothes AND building community—my favorite things!

I’m Mandi! I live in Seattle with my partner and our 5-year-old pug/beagle mix. I have been part of the LS community for almost 2 years now and I love how it’s evolved into a trade marketplace for me made, slow fashion, and soon-to-be vintage/thrift! I’m passionate about the environment and love being involved in making sustainable fashion more accessible. In my free time, you can find me making things (sewing/metalsmithing), traveling, hiking, or spending time with friends.

I have always loved making things! In 2014 I started metalsmithing; making jewelry through the lost wax casting process. I was gifted a sewing machine right before the pandemic and since I couldn’t get into the metalsmithing studio, I started sewing a bunch and found a new favorite hobby!
