Brooke's guide to combining funky, classic and comfortable slow fashion

Behind the Wears

Brooke’s outfit photos on the Lucky Sweater app have led to comments like, “I want your entire closet!”, “Can you be my stylist!”, and “If you passed me on the street I would HAVE TO stop you and tell you that you look amazing!”.

Brooke’s unique fashion sense and cool styling of slow fashion and vintage items inspire our community so we thought we’d ask how they developed their style!

How would you describe your personal style in one sentence?

My personal style is where funky meets classic, but it’s always comfortable!

Where do you find inspiration for your style?

I actually find a lot of inspiration for my style in 70s & 90s looks. The 90s will always hold a special place in my heart as being my personal favorite fashion decade. I’m also inspired by menswear, street style, and playing with shape and texture in a look.

Are there any brands/designers that you love at the moment?

At the moment I am really loving Fashion Brand Company, and Rachel Comey has always been one of my favorite designers. Honorable mention of Aimé Leon Dore and their immaculate street style.

What is your favorite LS Trade?

My favorite LS Trade was my Goodnight Day sweater.

Lastly, what’s your favorite tip to create a unique but also a sustainable wardrobe?

Pairing down my closet changed the game for me when it came to creating outfits that felt like “me”. Having (a lot) less stuff leaves so much room for inspiration! If I wasn’t beaming when I put on a piece of clothing, it was gone. Soon I was left with only my most favorite pieces, and I was able to play around making outfits.

Turning closets into communities

Come for the clothes, stay for the community. Never have to buy again.
